We aim to provide care that meets the needs and preferences of each resident within a secure, homely, comfortable environment. In pursuit of this aim, we exercise the following objectives:

  • We will seek and listen to the views of our residents and their representatives.
  • We will provide appropriately qualified, experienced, and competent staff.
  • We will ensure the provision of an ongoing programme of staff development and supervision tailored to individual learning and developmental needs.
  • We will provide the appropriate facilities and equipment to ensure the safe delivery of care in comfortable surroundings.
  • We will implement policies and procedures for the guidance of our staff.
  • We will use easily understood information, record keeping and reporting systems.
  • We will work in partnership with our residents and their representatives.

Status and Constitution

Granard Residential Home is regulated by the Regulation & Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA) under Article 8 (1) of The Health and Personal Social Services (Quality, Improvement & Regulation) (Northern Ireland) Order 2003 as a Residential Home. The home is registered to provide care for 26 persons in the following categories: 

RC-I – Old age not falling within any other category

RC-MP – Mental disorder excluding learning disability or dementia

RC-MP(E)- Mental disorder over 65

RC-DE – Dementia

RC-LD – Learning Disability

RC-LD(E) – Learning Disability – over 65 years.

RC-PH – Physical Disability other than sensory impairment
